Slow and steady wins the weight-loss race, right?
A recent study from the University of Florida investigated several diet plans and found that those individuals who lost weight quickly were more likely to be slimmer at follow-up (e.g., 18 months). In fact, they were 5 times more likely to be slimmer than those who didn't lose the weight quickly. Patricia Bannan, R.D. and author of Eat Right When Time Is Tight says, "Not seeing results soon enough is the number-one reason women give up on weight-loss plans."
Here's a hint of caution... be careful that you don't choose a super-restrictive diet in order to lose weight quickly. You need a minimum number of calories just for your body to function at its optimum. So, choose a plan that allows you to slim down quickly but safely.
